What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracking link that tells a partner site (e.g. a flight search or hotel booking platform) that a visitor came from WanderTourScore. If you complete a booking or purchase through that link, the partner pays us a commission. You pay exactly the same price you would pay going directly to the partner. The commission comes from the partner’s marketing budget, not from you.
Which links are affiliate links?
Affiliate links are found in the “Plan Your Trip” / booking sections at the bottom of country pages and guide articles. These sections are clearly labelled. Categories include:
- Flight search and comparison tools
- Hotel and accommodation booking platforms
- Tour and activity booking
- Travel insurance providers
We do not use affiliate links in our editorial content, ranking tables, or data panels. Standard outbound links to data sources (World Bank, UN, government advisories) are never affiliate links.
Does this affect our rankings?
No. Our country scores and rankings are calculated entirely from publicly available datasets using our documented scoring methodology (see the About page). Affiliate partnerships have no influence on which countries rank highly. We have no commercial relationship with any country, tourism board, or government that would affect our data.

WanderTourScore currently uses affiliate partners in categories like these:
- Flight search platforms and comparison tools
- Hotel and accommodation booking platforms, including Stay22 hotel links
- Travel insurance providers
- Tour and activity booking platforms
FTC and regulatory compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), the UK’s ASA/CAP rules on affiliate marketing, and equivalent EU consumer protection regulations.
